We are long-standing, fully committed, solar specialists. Our team have worked in the solar industry for over 12 years. Over this period, We have delivered over a thousand jobs as contractors to solar suppliers across Queensland, New South Wales and A.C.T. It’s important that you’re fully comfortable with the solar provider you choose. Below are a few common questions (and our answers) that are important to consider before embarking on your solar journey.
Are your installers accredited by the Clean Energy Council?
Yes, all of our installers are accredited and qualified to install under the Clean Energy Council (CEC) guidelines. This means that we have completed training to design and install solar, batteries and other renewable energy systems.
We also live up to our responsibilities under the CEC in providing you with a comprehensive maintenance schedule. We go beyond expectations and what many other solar companies would do, by providing you with maintenance for the entire first year free. Self-monitoring and remote management is included in the price of installation.
Will you provide a site-specific design?
During our initial discussions we provide a site specific design for a solar system on your house or building. We do this by looking at your address, size of the building, and determining the type of panels most suitable. We will also perform calculations to project how much you will save by investing in solar, which will be included in your proposal and quote. In the quote we outline how much solar will cost, and how much we predict you will save. Following this (with no commitment to proceed required) we will complete a site inspection to find out even more about your home or building. This is an opportunity for us to meet you, and make sure what is on the proposal translates to your home / building. After the site inspection, we can modify the proposal if needed.
What are the warranty terms for each product or component (i.e. inverter, panels)?
We use a mix of trusted brands that provide varying warranties with different pricing, including:
Hyundai Panels (25 year warranty)
Sumec Phono Panels (15-20 year warranty)
Fronius Inverter (10 Year warranty)
Sungrow Inverter (10 Year warranty)
High efficiency Solar Module (25 or more years performance warranty)
Do you provide an additional warranty on the installation?
We provide a 10-year peace of mind installation warranty. This means if anything happens in the decade following the installation (directly resulting from the installation) we will come to your site and fix it free of charge.
We also conduct a complimentary maintenance check on all solar systems 12 months after installation to ensure they are performing correctly. During this maintenance check we look for:
- Any cool heating leakage
- The rare possibility of defects
- Whether the panels are clean (if not we may recommend cleaning once a year)
- Whether you need any pigeon or possum proofing (if we find any living under the panels)
- Any leaves or debris collecting under the panels (if so there is a risk they may catch fire and we would recommend leaf / debris proofing)
During our initial consultations before we install solar, we provide all customers with a proposal which includes solar performance estimates. During the maintenance check we also analyse how much solar your system has been producing, and if needed we amend the proposal to provide you with a more accurate projection. Usually the factors that cause slight differences are out of human control such as unpredicted weather conditions. However, normally our predictions are fairly accurate and there are minimal to no changes.
At Cardinal Solar we give our customers the time that is needed to communicate effectively regarding the installation and guaranteeing a high quality service. And we go above and beyond to do our best to fix any issues that may arise whether that be aesthetically or technically (regulations dependent). We know solar is a huge decision, and encourage you to look out our FAQs page or contact us if you have any questions.
